Elvin Warrior Shield - Featured on CakeCentral!

CakeCentral (www.cakecentral.com) is one of my favorite cake websites. I get so many ideas and inspiration from the cakes posted there. I'm thrilled they chose the Elvin Warrior Shield cake to feature! (See full post on Feb '09). Thanks again to the photographic artistry of Shannon Mucha - she really made it shine! Will and Kristen marry! - photographer pics

Okay, here are the good pictures from Will and Kristen's wedding done by fabulous photographer, Daniel Colvin http://www.danielcolvinphotography.com. I was going to post only 2 or 3, but these pics were so pretty, I just had to include them all. Details about these cakes are posted on an earlier post in October.

New Year's Cake

This cake was done for the client of a friend of mine. Bottom tier: Chocolate cake and chocolate buttercream. Top tier: Chocolate cake and chocolate buttercream with Reese's Peanut Butter cups chopped and added to the buttercream. Cakes are covered in marshmallow fondant dusted with white pearl dust and the decorations are fondant painted and dusted with color gels and pearl dusts.

Samantha's Smocked Dress Cake

This was a shower for a friend's sweet new baby. Trudy Callan is her mommy and Trudy is an awesome seamstress (see her blog www.sewingwithtrudy.blogspot.com ), so I wanted the cake to reflect her gift as well as celebrate Samantha's arrival. Chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and all other decorations, fondant.

It's A Boy Cake

White Almond Sour Cream Cake with vanilla buttercream and fresh strawberries. Decorations were designed to look like the shower invitation and made with fondant and modeling chocolate. (Sorry about the messy kitchen in the background).

Kangaroo Shower Cake

White Almond Sour Cream cake with vanilla buttercream and fresh strawberries. Cameron cut and handpainted the fondant kangaroo. We (the hostess and I) tried to think of a play on words because the mother-to-be was moving to Australia. :)
