This is our first "real" bride's wedding cake. The bride gave us a picture she liked from theknot.com and we came as close as possible to it. We were pleased that the bride was pleased. Another first for us was the sugarpaste flowers. Cameron became our flower expert and did about 80% of them. I worked on the cakes. Bottom tier - white cake/chocolate buttercream filling, middle tier - white cake/raspberry puree filling, top tier - white cake/lemon curd buttercream filling. All tiers covered with vanilla buttercream and Creme Bouquet-flavored marshmallow fondant. Flowers are gumpaste with white pearl dust. White dots are royal icing. Navy and white fabric ribbons.

This was for Hannah M.'s LOTR b'day. It was so much fun to do and yes, there actually is a cake under there! We used a rectangular-shaped double layer white cake/bc icing, the side of which is the front of the "hole". Then (bless her heart), our Greer-girl made several batches of rice krispie treats and Cameron molded it on top of the cake to make the shape of "the hill". All of the stones, door and topiaries are fondant. (The door opened to reveal a secret message to the birthday girl - "Happy Birthday Hannah" (pic 2) which she opened as we sang.) For the windows we kneaded Dots (gumdrops) flat for the stained glass and piped buttercream for the "leaded" separation. Thanks to Cameron for the great stone wall and vines, gumdrop lanterns and lovely garden in front. Daddy helped with the flowers on the back. All of the rest is green buttercream piped on with a grass tip (boy did that come in handy!) Thanks to the M.'s for letting us celebrate with you and for your inspiring creativity.

nd the mountain and in the stream. Oh yeah, it's a choc cake! Thank you, Roger and Kim.

We were asked to do a fleur-de-lis cake (Boy Scout symbol) for an Eagle Scout ceremony. Cameron worked diligently and skillfully on this Eagle Scout medal. I think she did a terrific job and it truly makes the cake. Choc cake/choc buttercream with choc clay cover and roping. All fondant Eagle Scout medal dusted in silver pearl dust. Thank you, Allison.
First image has better lighting and easier to see detail. Second image was cake's final "home" complete with choc. dipped strawberries dressed up with baseballs and bats. Choc cake/choc buttercream with choc clay cover (both tiers). Used diamond impression mat on bottom tier. Sugarpaste banner and diploma, fondant tassels. Gold pearl dust on the edge of banner and diploma. Thank you Keith and Judy.

A boy turning 13 needs a very masculine yet sophisticated cake, right? I asked Dustin if he was sick of chocolate yet after eating that cake. He said, "No" and I would probably concur. Who could tire of chocolate? Choc. cake/choc. buttercream, choc. clay outside, choc.-dipped strawb. with choc. (and white choc.) "D".
