For Marcus' b'day. Lessons learned from this one. Gumpaste needs a lot longer to dry for something this large. Since the shield had some drooping and cracking problems, we just consider it a "relic" shield - Ha! Also, we have a new favorite frosting thanks to Marcus. Chocolate cake (underneath shield) and cupcakes frosted with Mocha buttercream. Shield is all gumpaste and "aged" with food coloring and gold pearl dust. (Also, if you're wondering, that writing is Marcus' name in the Elvish alphabet in mocha buttercream.)
