Julian and Nikki's bridal cake

Thanks to Cameron again for her hard work and artistry. She made all the red gumpaste cherry blossoms (stamen centers are 2mm pearl dragees) and crafted the chocolate fondant tree and branches. She also made the red gumpaste lovebirds on top of the cake. Top and bottom cake tiers are White Almond Sour Cream w/ almond buttercream icing; middle tier is red velvet w/almond buttercream. Cake is covered in vanilla fondant. Ribbons are real.

"P" is food-coloring painted gumpaste. Many thanks to Shannon M. for these exquisite photos of the bride's and groom's wedding cakes.

Peter Rabbit

Forgive me for posting so many pictures of this one, but it was hard to show it in one or two. This was for a baby shower and the baby's nursery theme is Peter Rabbit. The plaques tell the story of Peter Rabbit. We had some very special help with this one. Our friends Shannon and Marcus (excellent artists) along with Cameron hand-painted (with food coloring) these gumpaste plaques. Cameron did the large hex on the top with the raised gumpaste Mother and Peter figures. It definitely ranks as one of my favorites. Cake- White Almond Sour Cream and raspberry Swiss Meringue Buttercream filling. Vanilla Swiss Meringue Buttercream covered the hex cake. Vines and flowers SMB as well. Thank you so much Shannon, Marcus and Cameron for your outstanding artistry. We all learned a lot!

Ivey Airlines

This was for our neighbor whose husband is a commercial pilot. They are having a boy and are decorating the nursery w/airplanes. The "flight plan" included: Flight No: (3 for 3rd child), Passenger (baby's name), Destination (our neighborhood name), Arrival (the due date), Pilot (mommy's name), Co-pilot (daddy's name) and Flight Attendants (sisters' names). Cameron again did a fabulous job on the plane. Cake is chocolate w/ chocolate buttercream. Other decorations fondant. (Flight plan printed on the computer!)

American Flag

This was made for a presentation we had on the Founding Fathers. Chocolate mini-cupcakes topped with chocolate icing and then decorated with red, white and blue buttercream.

Macaw

Cameron did another outstanding job on this gumpaste Macaw complete with birdseed. Chocolate cake/mocha buttercream and buttercream flowers.

Elvin Warrior Shield

For Marcus' b'day. Lessons learned from this one. Gumpaste needs a lot longer to dry for something this large. Since the shield had some drooping and cracking problems, we just consider it a "relic" shield - Ha! Also, we have a new favorite frosting thanks to Marcus. Chocolate cake (underneath shield) and cupcakes frosted with Mocha buttercream.

Shield is all gumpaste and "aged" with food coloring and gold pearl dust. Terri - cake and shield; Cameron - "aging effect". Thanks to Shannon for this incredible photo montage. (Also, if you're wondering, that writing is Marcus' name in the Elvish alphabet in mocha buttercream.)
