This cake was to resemble the party invite. It was a lot of fun to do and i love the colors! Bottom and top tiers - vanilla cake; middle tier - chocolate. All iced in tinted vanilla buttercream. All decorations are fondant except "Natalie" which is gumpaste. What really put this one over the top was that I happened to have the cakestand it is on which were the identical colors used on the cake from the invitation.

This is so impressive! Just beautiful. I hope an 8-year old can appreciate what an amazing cake this is! And I hope my kids never expect that quality of a cake for their birthday ;).
Wow. What a fabulous cake. I decorate cakes at work, but I've never even imagined a cake could look this amazing.
